World Croc Day

On June 17, 2017, the first World Croc Day was celebrated! Established by Shawn Heflick, Kelly Silvano, and CRC Executive Director Dr. Marisa Tellez, this day is to bring awareness, education and appreciation to crocodiles around the world!
The CRC celebrated the first World Croc Day at The Belize Zoo. Over the years the CRC has conducted various educational outreach in celebration. In 2025, the World Croc Day founders decided to move forward with annual themes that parallel a location in which Word Croc Day will be highlighted.
World Croc Day 2026: “Legacy in Every Scale”
We are celebrating World Croc Day in Sarteneja, Belize, and in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic this year! In Santo Domingo, we will be at the Parque Zoológical Nacional doing croc talks with the resident American crocs at the zoo, as well as will be providing education all day!
