The past two weeks has been a frenzy of multi-media press for myself and the non-profit I co-founded with my husband in January 2016, the Crocodile Research Coalition.  First, our Facebook Page was published this past week,, and has received a lot of media attention in just the few days of it being launched.  Keep an eye out, especially in the next 2 weeks as we will be publishing some exciting news about the CRC daily, related to our international and national partners, media exposure, and citizen science projects as well as some of our community involvement programs.

Secondly, I’ve been contacted by various media sources to discuss the situation with the proposed resort on Blackadore Caye, owned by Leonardo Dicaprio.  For those that do not know, Dicaprio bought an island in Belize several years ago.  His love for the environment and conservation inspired him to build an innovative environmentally friendly resort. HOWEVER, the local San Pedranos of Ambergris Caye have spoken and are weary of the proposed eco-friendly resort.  To find out about the discussion and my thoughts on Blackadore Caye, here are some media links to read:

Finally, I will be a guest along with Master’s student Miriam Boucher on Herpin’ Time Talk radio, a blog radio show for all those reptile and amphibian lovers.  Here is the link for the radio show this Sunday, January 31 at 5pm US Central Time:
